1066 And All That
Guernsey and the other Channel Islands represent the last remnants of the medieval Dukedom of Normandy, which held sway in both France and England.
The island has its own independent legal system and parliamentary institutions and is to a large extent a self-governing territory although all local legislation has to have Royal assent.

Guernsey residents take their sport and activities very seriously and they don't mind if you want to join in. Three golf courses, cycling, kayaking, bowls, horse riding, go karting or how about some Guernsey Coasteering? Beau Sejour leisure centre provides a range of popular indoor sports and reception can assist with bookings.
